Description of workshop:
In this class I will be teaching you how to make a fabric 4 signature book (6" x 8") with a wood based front and back cover. I will instruct how to make coptic binding stitch to attach the front and back cover and all of the signatures. I demonstrate how to make gesso and plaster covered fabric for the pages and how to make lace, fabric, plaster borders to trim your pages.
After the book is constructed we will be working on our pages using mixed media painting and collaging techniques . We will work on our cover using collage, image transfers, drawing, painting with watercolors, gesso, re-inkers and pastels.
